Lend4Health- A Lifechanging Organization

It’s been a while since I wrote as life has gotten away with me again. My youngest daughter has had surgery, and started in school and William started back into Heartland, he just wasn’t ready to join regular school. But another thing I have found in these last few months is a wonderful organization from the US that is helping to change the lives of children with autism.

You see in North America, very few insurance companies cover biomedical treatment for autism. And although the research is coming in showing it is very effective in treating children, the gov’t and the companies still stand back. And this is where Lend4Health comes in. You see it is a non-profit organization run by a wonderful mother Tori. She modelled it after the micro-loan system used by Kiva. Now those who may never have been able to provide their children with biomedical treatments are now able to get them the help they need. Private donators place donations on her site for specific children and when the laon amount is met, Tori pays it out to the family and this allows them to take their child for the much needed treatment.

In one way it saddens me to see a site such as this. Every child desearves the right to be their best, every child desearves the right to have their health be the best it can be, every child deserves a chance, and this is what Lend4health is doing, but they shouldn’t have to. You see, in the free world we live in, every child should have access to the treatments they need, to the things that can help make their lives better. It should not fall upon the shoulders of strangers to bear the burden of these costs. It should come from everywhere. All children deserve a life, all children should be given a chance, and this should not be because a parent stood up and said enough, let’s make it right. Society as a whole should have been the ones to step up and say let’s help these children.

Either way I am thankful for Tori and her wonderful idea and as you can see my little William is up there, as well as our hope, that one day he will be able to get the treatment he needs to live and function the best he can. Till then I continue to spread the word about Lend4Health in the hopes it will help other children, and will one day help my little boys too.
